Nobody can stop my wife to prepare ‘something to feast’ for Media Noche, a celebrated meal prior New Year. In the Filipino tradition, no matter how big or small your budget can afford for the media noche meal, it has to be celebrated with your loved ones – our Family, the grandest gift from God.
I just stood up from my catnap and was amazed with the small meal preparations that my wife had. The small meal was bursting in colour, perfectly arranged and its aroma was floating in the air. (Psalm 23:5 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over”).
One of my weak points is to admire amazingly a beauty of abundance, little or big.
For a moment, my playful mind made me think about abundance. Through the year, we persevere to step up positively for sustenance of our hopeful dreams. We almost did; but for health and natural reasons the possibilities were driven an arm length away. But for my wife and me, it does not matter because in kind God is abundantly good to us with love and kindness. (Psalm. 36:7 “How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God; therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings”).
At times, God may be sparing to us but He normally bless us with good things in abundance. Let all of us overflow God with gratitude for His blessings last year and for the New Year 2017. Happy New Year!
